The World Peace foundation e.V. is a non-profit NGO that systematically initiates and fosters processes for worldwide peace building through global events and programs with support of a global network of partners.
Partners have included the United Nations Office for Partnerships (UNOP), the UNDPI and the UNDP, NGOs around the world and corporate partners like Unilever, Virgin Unite and Google. The World Peace Foundation, and its entities the World Peace Festival and World Peace Partnership, were founded by Tom Oliver. It has counted among its global advisors and supporters business leaders like Richard Branson, the Buffet and the Rockefeller family, Nobel Peace Prize Laureates like Desmond Tutu, the Dalai Lama, Dr. Shirin Ebadi, Dr. Mairead Maguire and heads of state such as Michelle Bachelet, President of Chile.
The WPF has been named “Best practices and innovations in individual philanthropy and social investment around the world” by the Synergos Institute, NYC, USA, founded and run by the Rockefeller family. The WPF has also been termed “The most influential peace gathering in history” by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Desmond Tutu.
